The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, says the Presidency has refused to obey Justice Gabriel Kolawole’s  ruling, ordering  the  release of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria,  Ibraheem El-Zakzakky, because it appealed the ruling.

Adesina said this during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday.

The presidential spokesman said the then Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), could  have his reasons for doing so since the government had the right to appeal the bail.

He said, “I know that the immediate past AGF in whose purview it was to make pronouncements on that, addressed the issue. If bail is granted and another case subsists, and there is an immediate filing of  an appeal, you have to wait till it is dispensed with. So, that is a legal matter which is outside my purview, but as a layman, an unlearned man as lawyers would call us, we know that until all cases are dispensed with, you don’t say that  they  have  been concluded.”

Adesina said the matter had since been taken before a court in Kaduna State and the bail hearing would come up  on Monday.

He, therefore, called on the  sect to wait for the court to make its ruling.

Responding to allegations that the police  should  not  have fired live bullets  at   the group which was  protesting against the continued detention of their leader in Abuja on Monday, the spokesman said the police deserved  commendation, adding that the death toll would have been higher if the  force  did not  demonstrate  restraint.

Adesina  said, “I tell you despite what happened yesterday (Monday), if the police had responded with greater force, you know we would not be talking about what we are talking now.

“A deputy commissioner of police was killed. Very sad, that is one life just like any other life. He did not deserve to die in service. But if the police had responded in a  similar fashion, you would have been talking of rivers of blood in Abuja now.”

Those are the words of Adesina, being the reason for holding still unlawfully Ibraheem El-Zakzakky in detention.

The presidency being an executive arm of the government disobeyed the court order to release El-zakzakky and held him for almost three years now.

all these while, the government kept mute as to the reason for detaining still this man and disobeying the court order and neglecting the rule of law.

Howbeit, the followers of this same man, the Islamic Movement of Nigeria has resorted to protest demanding the release of their leader El-zakzakky , which of course has led to lost of many lives.

The recent protest which has taken the life of the deputy commissioner of police in Abuja.

my questions to the presidency are simple: what really is the offense of El-zakkzakky?

why did you keep mute to Nigerians, as to give a single reason why you defy the court order to release the man?

Please can you tell Nigerians what special power you have over the other arms of government not to obey the rule of law?

why have you so intentionally endanger the lives of Nigerians by motivating the recent crisis the nation is experiencing from the claws of this group?

How are you going to make up for the lives that are lost?

why are you speaking up now the life of the deputy commissioner of police is taken? what of the other lives that were lost? This whole thing feels like an experiment. it also gives the feeling that someone somewhere intentionally is spearheading the whole scenario in order to raise up another group to keep terrorizing the nation. thereby creating instability, fear, tension and intimidation in the nation in order to achieve an aim or agenda. I pray the feeling is wrong.

Do you think you can contain the situation now?

Are you aware this group moves with weapons to protest and that they are ready to kill?

Are you also aware that if you don’t contain the situation that you just ended up creating another insurgent group?

can you answer these questions?

Adesina said the police should be commended, yes i commend them for doing their duties.

the duty impose on them by the irresponsible act of the presidency which has led to the death of a superior officer.

some battles are not necessary, most battles are definitely avoidable.

wisdom saves lives, preserves a nation, unites a people and brings unity and prosperity.

This whole thing is a sign of lack of application of wisdom or poor application of it and applying a corrupted wisdom, and if the right wisdom is not applied, this group will be worst than bokoharam, if peradventure anything should happen to their leader.

Lack of wisdom among Leaders sets nations ablaze and against one another.

imagine in the situation, where the house of Rep. was invaded by this same group.

How safe is the national Assembly if this group should resort to arms like the bokoharam?

please Let the right Wisdom be applied.
